1. Acceptance and scope
These Terms of Service apply to the Interactive xAPI Designer plugin published by Loo Kang WEE. By installing or using the plugin, you agree to these terms. If you use it for an organisation, you represent that you are authorised to accept these terms and to provide any files, systems, or data placed within the task’s scope.
OpenAI’s terms also apply to your use of ChatGPT or Codex. SLS, GitHub, a learning record store, and other third-party services have their own separate terms.
2. What the plugin provides
The plugin provides AI-assisted guidance for designing, building, improving, packaging, and testing educational interactives, including optional xAPI state and learning analytics. Features and results may change as the plugin, OpenAI models, SLS, browsers, and referenced services evolve.
3. Your responsibilities
- Review and test all generated code, content, accessibility, scoring, feedback, and analytics before use with learners.
- Verify curriculum accuracy, age appropriateness, licensing, security, privacy, and compliance with institutional requirements.
- Use only files, systems, accounts, and data that you are authorised to access or modify.
- Keep credentials, SLS launch authentication values, private keys, and confidential learner data out of prompts, sample files, and public issues.
- Obtain any required notice, consent, or other lawful authority before collecting or storing learner data.
4. AI-assisted output and educational decisions
Outputs may be incomplete, inaccurate, insecure, inaccessible, or unsuitable for a particular learner or context. You remain responsible for human review and the final decision to publish, deploy, teach with, assess through, or rely on an output.
Learning analytics produced by an interactive describe behaviour within that activity. They must not be treated as a diagnosis or as a definitive measure of ability, intent, character, or future performance. High-stakes educational decisions require appropriate professional judgment and additional evidence.
5. xAPI and learner data
You are responsible for defining a proportionate analytics contract, limiting collection to useful learning evidence, checking the actual transmitted payload, and applying the data-governance requirements of your institution and platform. Do not intentionally record raw keystrokes, credentials, hidden identifiers, unrelated browser data, or unnecessary personal information.
The plugin does not guarantee that an SLS or learning-record connection is active. Local behavior, xAPI payload construction, and live SLS transport are distinct verification stages.
6. Acceptable use
You must not use the plugin to unlawfully access systems or data, evade security controls, distribute malware, infringe intellectual property or privacy rights, impersonate another person, misrepresent unverified output as authoritative, or conduct covert surveillance of learners.
7. External services and links
The plugin may reference or help you use OpenAI, iwant2study.org, GitHub, SLS, or other services. The developer does not control those services and is not responsible for their availability, content, security, policies, or data handling. An external upload or publication should occur only when you intentionally request or authorise it.
8. Intellectual property
The plugin package, source repository, and bundled third-party materials remain subject to the licence notices that accompany them. These terms do not grant rights to third-party content, school materials, software, trademarks, or datasets. You are responsible for confirming that you may use and distribute all inputs and resulting packages.
9. No affiliation or endorsement
Unless expressly stated by the relevant organisation, Interactive xAPI Designer is not an official product of, or endorsed by, OpenAI, Singapore’s Ministry of Education, or Student Learning Space. Names and marks belong to their respective owners.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the plugin and related documentation are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, uninterrupted availability, compatibility, security, or error-free operation.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the developer will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss, or for loss of data, learning records, revenue, opportunity, or reputation arising from use of or inability to use the plugin. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
12. Suspension and discontinuation
The plugin may be updated, suspended, or discontinued at any time. Access may be limited when reasonably necessary to address misuse, security, legal, or operational concerns.
13. Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated as the plugin or applicable requirements change. The effective date at the top of this page identifies the current published version. Continuing to use the plugin after an update means you accept the revised terms.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any mandatory rights available under applicable law remain unaffected.
