Body Mass Index (BMI)
BMI stands for Body Mass Index. It is a measure of body fat based on height and weight that applies to adult men and women. It is calculated by dividing the weight in kilograms by the square of the height in meters. A BMI of less than 18.5 is considered underweight, 18.5 to 24.9 is considered healthy, 25 to 29.9 is considered overweight, and 30 or higher is considered obese.
BMI Categories:

- Overweight: 25–29.9
- Obesity class I: 30–34.9
- Obesity class II: 35–39.9
- Obesity class III: 40 or greater
