## Description
Can you explain a micrometer reading instead of just copying its display?
Explore, Practice and Challenge: a hands-on guide for students and teachers.

Try the interactive:
https://iwant2study.moe.edu.sg/lookangejss/01_measurement/ejss_model_DigitalMicrometer/index.html

Learn how to:
- Resize the green object and bring the spindle into contact.
- Add the sleeve and thimble readings to the nearest 0.01 mm.
- Use guided hints, typed answers and the mobile-friendly answer list.
- Correct positive and negative zero error using observed reading minus zero error.
- Learn from feedback and start a fresh randomized Challenge.

Worked examples:
7.50 + 0.16 = 7.66 mm
Positive zero error: 7.76 - (+0.10) = 7.66 mm
Negative zero error: 7.56 - (-0.10) = 7.66 mm
Read the sleeve and thimble scales for the observed reading, then subtract the signed zero error to obtain the corrected width. The list/text switch is manual on either device.

Teacher prompt:
Model one example in Explore, ask pairs to explain each step in Practice, then use Challenge as an independent check. Keep the same object and compare positive and negative zero errors. Why should its corrected width stay constant?

Keep the same object. Change zero error from +0.10 mm to -0.10 mm. Explain why the corrected width stays the same.

## Verification
- Recorded real browser interactions at the exact supplied URL.
- Full-screen simulation recording, with brief high-contrast text panels above the apparatus. No decorative frame or permanent subtitle strip.
- Desktop text and a 900 x 510 landscape viewport with list entry were demonstrated.
- UTF-8 data is read explicitly and teaching text uses ASCII-safe symbols. Corrected narration says 7.76 and 7.56 in the zero-error worked examples.
- Assertions checked spindle contact, 7.66 mm measurement, +0.10/-0.10 corrections, Practice reveal, Challenge hint lock and successful answer, and new-challenge reset.
- Main output: 1920 x 1080, 30 fps, H.264 video, AAC narration.
- Duration: 05:18. MP4 SHA-256: 9e0e6205c5565e7329d469d0eed61f92f33fb8ae288f11e4d0449ada10e3c200
- No simulation source or deployed files were changed. No YouTube upload was performed.
- One rehearsal with a whole-number Challenge answer (5.00) did not pass the correct-answer assertion. The final demonstration uses a two-decimal non-round example; this tutorial does not certify all random answer formats.
